ABOUT THE ARTIST
Painter, photographer, videographer, graphic designer, designer, and performer, Pascal Nampémanla Traoré intertwines disciplines to continuously reinvent himself.
Nampémanla questions the world, placing humanity at the heart of his work. He is in constant exploration and experimentation, drawing inspiration from diverse sources—cultural, autobiographical, and sociocultural. His creative process is driven by impulse and deep emotion.
His work critically examines the human condition, using art to explore themes of freedom, dignity, and memory, as well as ecology and overconsumption. He sees art as a space for questioning political, cultural, and identity issues, seeking to reconnect with our shared humanity.
"I often hear people say we need to save the planet. I believe that when humans understand they are part of nature, only then can they hope to be saved."
His series HumaNature is a love song to life.
