ABOUT THE ARTIST

Omar Lionel Sow, known as O'LIO, is a self-taught Senegalese visual artist.

Born on November 25, 1970, in Dakar (Senegal), he stands out for his intuitive artistic style and his deep exploration of African social scenes, spirituality, and the environment.

Through his many travels across Africa and around the world, he has been inspired by cultural and intellectual exchanges, which have enriched his artistic methods. His determination and resilience are expressed through paintings that question, harmonize, and forge a unique style.

O'LIO's creations are a rich fusion of paradoxes and balance, reflecting a singular artistic quest.

O’LIO draws inspiration from his urban and social environment in Dakar. His intuitive approach to African abstract art integrates elements of daily life, spirituality, and nature.

His works capture social and spiritual dynamics through bold shapes and colors, creating a visual dialogue between reality and abstraction. They reflect his deep engagement with his cultural heritage and contemporary observations.
